Offshore Windfarms

BMS filmed the development of both the ‘Lynn and Inner Dowsing’ and ‘Lincs’ wind farms for Centrica Renewables, onshore and offshore. We produced videos telling environmental and ecological stories, construction updates and produced the final inauguration film for the grand launch event.
BMS recently completed filming the construction of the world’s largest offshore wind farm, the London Array in the Thames Estuary. We captured key milestones in construction on camera, we built a 3D animated model of the project before construction began and we brought the footage together to produce a series of engaging videos telling the story of the London Array on their website and social media channels. Our offshore time-lapse photography rig captured the installation of the world’s largest crane vessel, Rambiz, installing one of the offshore substations.

When Dong Energy’s Gunfleet Sands 3 was built comprising of two new Siemens 6MW turbines BMS was there to tell the story using 3D animation, video, aerial filming and graphical overlays.

And BMS has recently undertaken a full aerial video survey of all the offshore wind farms using Siemens turbines including Gunfleet Sands, Greater Gabbard, Burbo Banks and Sheringham Shoal.

London Array is the largest offshore wind farm in the world. BMS produced a series of creative video productions to support the Communications team throughout construction.
BMS’s professional and flexible crews coupled with a modular rate card meant that films could be produced exactly when stories needing telling. And budget was agreed in advance and kept under tight control.
BMS’s experience in offshore construction filming was invaluable throughout and films were produced to a very high standard.
